Morning (27:15), emerged out of a series of ambient recordings that Michael made in 1978/79 in the desert near Tucson, Arizona and in the seaside jungle village of Yelapa, Jalisco, Mexico. Jewel (23:08) was recorded using the Eikosany, a micro-tonally tuned vibraphone designed and built by Erv Wilson. The Soft Touch of Morning Light. The ambient tracks on this album are lovely, although not as refined as his later work. The techno tracks (excluding the perfection of Tranqulizer) didn't age terribly well, though.

Although overall not as captivating and enchanting as Michael’s classic space music (think Planetary Unfolding ), this soft resonating, overtly spacious, minimalist and drone-oriented outcome is something in the same vein. It’s actually the 20-minute title track that made the less impression on me, the first half sounds a bit too uniform and uninspired to my ears.
