This Morning I Met a Whale book. The character Michael is great and I love how he bonds one day with a whale. I also love when he's right and the whole class is wrong including Jamie. The novel has a great meaning behind it! I love the creation of the drawings and this supported one hell of a book. You can't help but cheer for the whale right at the end as Michael is helping it get through its pain!

Michael Morpurgo, author of over 100 books, could in many ways be described as an ‘old-fashioned’ writer. Unlike many of today’s authors for young people, Morpurgo rarely features contemporary family issues such as divorce, inadequate parents or urban social problems. Instead, many of his books have historical and rural settings, and he uses his gift for telling enchanting stories to explore timeless values.
