Ambrose Campbell (19 August 1919 – 22 June 2006) was a Nigerian musician and bandleader. He worked with British jazz musicians in the 1950s, and later toured and recorded with Leon Russell in the US, where he lived for thirty years. He was born Oladipupo Adekoya Campbell in Lagos, Nigeria, into a Christian family; his father was a preacher.

Beginnings is the debut album by the British rock band Ambrose Slade, who later achieved fame as Slade. It was released on 9 May 1969, but failed to enter the charts. In the US, it was released under the title Ballzy.

Ambrose Campbell "Rosy", is the progenitor of modern Nigerian High Life. A true musical legend, many populer Nigerian and West African Highlife greats like Fela Kuti, understudied Rosy. Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey and others used Rosy's compositions to make money. Ambrose Campbell & his emergent music : Highlife today 1966, EMI SX 6081.

The leader of Britain's first-ever black band, the West African Rhythm Brothers, Ambrose Campbell was a revolutionary force in world music more than two generations before the phrase was first coined.
