Description

Rutlin Bey. Ich Bin Ein Beiruter. Digital Download - Bandora Records

Ich bin Ich bin über alles/allem. Ich bin die Mutter fikker Die Mutter fikker Ich bin die Mutter fikker. Rachen sticken auchten sticke.

Rutlin Bey's production features live instrumentation and analog gear like vintage or modular synths, with a result that is anywhere between ambient soundscape and hardcore noise. For their first release, the duo selected two tracks from extensive recordings made during several jam sessions in 2012 in Monoke's studio in Berlin. The first, 'Ich Bin Ein Beiruter' pays homage to early days of electro-breaks, with a nod to Kraftwerk and a wink at the Detroit scene. Ending voice on Ich Bin Ein Beiruter by R. Najdi. Girl Trouble recorded in one take at Monoke Studios in Oct 2012. Cover photo by La Manchega.

Ich bin ein Berliner" is a well-known quote from a speech by United States President John F. Kennedy given on June 26, 1963, in West Berlin. It is widely regarded as the best-known speech of the Cold War and the most famous anti-communist speech. Kennedy aimed to underline the support of the United States for West Germany 22 months after Soviet-occupied East Germany erected the Berlin Wall to prevent mass emigration to the West

Notes

Debut release by Berlin-Beirut electronic duo OkyDoky and Lilak Monoke, featuring analog synths and live instrumentation, two tracks of breaks, trip hop, and electronica revival.

Rutlin Bey is Lilak Monoke from Berlin and OkyDoky from Beirut, two electronic musicians joining forces in a trans-continental sonic cooperative. Two cities. Two artists. Two states of mind. And a two-track debut release.

OkyDoky's fast-driving beats and Monoke's anthemic synths taking the song to a crescendo and back, ending with simultaneous declarations of urban attachments in Arabic and German. 'Girl Trouble' springs from classic electronica, with pulsating, heavy-breathing synths, Monoke's sequencing and OkyDoky's bass playing pushing the tension to cutting point, and all recorded live in a single take.

Mastered by Paul Gold at Salt in Brooklyn, NYC. Ending voice on Ich Bin Ein Beiruter by R. Najdi. Girl Trouble recorded in one take at Monoke Studios in Oct 2012. Cover photo by La Manchega.
