Though the song was originally released in the UK in 1990 on a small independent label, it was a remix by Swedish house producers Stonebridge & Nick Nice that put Show Me Love and its gospel-bred lead singer on the map two years later. Ultimately, Show Me Love was certified gold and reached on Billboard’s US R&B chart, at pop, and at dance. Not to mention climbing into the Top 20 of multiple charts worldwide. It was such a success that it spawned a soundalike follow-up single called Love For Love.
