Aaron Carl, such a talent that is profoundly missed. I was truly devastated when I heard that he had passed away. So, so sad. He had many brilliant moments during his career but this one is astonishing. Very similar to the housey material from Underground Resistance, ’Tears’ is a emotional yet powerful musical statement. The quality of production is near perfection. Just the way that the fat beat is combined with spoken vocals and trademark Detroit strings and all, everything about it is well put together. The A-side is the one you want to listen to. Not saying that the other mix would be bad but it just hasn’t got any of that magic that can be heard on the A-side. Aaron you’ll be missed but your music lives on.

Aaron Carl really comes through on this 12". "Tears" is reminscient of the UR style of late, with really emotive synth work and spoken vocals. Aaron takes it a little more minimal in its structure though, not going all out but keeping the tension restrained a bit by building and building. A beautiful example of why so many people are so devoted to Detroit techno!
