Scandroid’s debut full-length album turned the synthwave world on its head, introducing a level of imagination and top-tier production rarely heard in the genre. What he unearthed was the New Retro sound of a forgotten era.

Scandroid is an electronic music project created by Klayton, and previously included Varien in 2013. The project released its debut single, "Salvation Code", on August 6, 2013, which was added to the debut album Scandroid upon release. Scandroid can be described as encompassing the retro synth melodies of the 80s while still adapting to modern production, thus creating a new retro sound.

Scandroid charted as follows: - Spoiler warning -. The story is set in the streets of Old Tokyo, Japan in the year 2517. Red, the protagonist of the album, falls in love with the android Aphelion and tries to rescue her and himself along with the other androids from the dawning civil war between Pro-bots and Robophobes. They eventually are led into Eden by Atom and . a place safe for androids as humans would never travel there. At last, Red and Aphelion merge into one so they can be united forever and Red can live in android Eden.

Scandroid, the modern Synthwave project from Detroit based artist/producer Klayton, best known for his multi-genre project Celldweller, is Klayton’s love letter to the 80s.
