A magnitude of reasons for this; ranging from how DESPERATELY uncool Secret Affair were when it came out, to their cheering resurrection of chiming, metallic guitar pop, which thrilled me in an era of senses-dulling synth duo's and overbearing stad-rock. As statements go, you wont find an angrier, more resonant two-fingers-up, anywhere in rock music, before or since.

Secret Affair's previous album, Behind Closed Doors, was just a bit too far ahead of its time; Business As Usual, in contrast, was a sad case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, in the wrong clothes. After Doors' disappointing sales, the band decided to rejig their sound once again and return to a somewhat closer approximation of their earlier mod vision. But this album wasn't Glory Boys revisted, but a retooling of their rock sound into a more dance-friendly concoction

Secret Affair released their fourth studio album, Soho Dreams after an absence of 30 years on their label, I-SPY Records, on 10 September 2012, distributed by Code7/Plastic Head and supported by a 13-date UK tour ending at The 229 Club, London, on 24 November. The band continue to tour throughout 2013 and perform their end of year show at the Islington Assembly Hall, 7 December. Business As Usual – 1982 – Number 84.
