Virtually every Paramount record recorded under his name from November 1924 through January 1926 may be found on Mystery Man of Jazz, a collection released on the Frog label in 2002.

Jimmy O'Bryant's Washboard Band, Vol. 1 (1924-1925). O'Bryant worked with the Tennessee Ten (1920-1921), in a group co-led by Jelly Roll Morton and . Handy (1923), and briefly with King Oliver (1924), but he is best remembered for his recordings with Lovie Austin's Blues Serenaders and his own Washboard Band; all of the latter have been reissued on two RST CDs. Jimmy O'Bryant's early death robbed him of any chance of gaining lasting fame, but his fine (if sometimes primitively recorded) performances as a leader give one a good idea as to his abilities.
O'Bryant played with the Tennessee Ten in 1920-21, then in a group with Jelly Roll Morton and . From 1923 to 1926 he recorded extensively with Lovie Austin's Blues Serenaders, and also did sessions with his own Washboard Band. He died in 1928 at the peak of his career. Biograph Records is a record label founded in 1967 by Arnold S. Caplin that specialized in early American ragtime, jazz, and blues music. Its reissues includes Bunny Berigan, Bing Crosby, The California Ramblers, Ruth Etting, Benny Goodman, Earl Hines, George Lewis, Ted Lewis, Jimmy O'Bryant, Jabbo Smith, Jack Teagarden, Ethel Waters, and Clarence Williams. The company's label are Melodeon, Center, Regal and Dawn. In 1970 Biograph bought the rights from QRS Records to release records made from piano rolls, and these included the work of Scott Joplin and Fats Waller.
