Talking Book is the fifteenth studio album by Stevie Wonder, released on October 28, 1972. He is said to have "hit his stride" in this signal recording of his "classic period". The album's first track, "You Are the Sunshine of My Life", hit on Billboard's Hot 100 and Easy Listening charts, then earned Wonder his first Grammy Award, for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. The album's first single, "Superstition", also hit on Billboard's Hot 100 and Hot Soul Singles charts.
Talking Book (LP, Album, Hol). Without a shadow of a doubt this is Stevie Wonders most beautiful piece of work. it belongs to the Top 10 records of all times. Maybe mostly remembered for those two giant lovers tunes. You Are The Sunshine Of my Life' - Song A1 tand "I Believe When I Fall In Love', it will be with you" as the closing.
After releasing two "head" records during 1970-71, Stevie Wonder expanded his compositional palette with 1972's Talking Book to include societal ills as well as tender love songs, and so recorded the first smash album of his career. What had been hinted at on the intriguing project Music of My Mind was here focused into a laser beam of tight songwriting, warm electronic arrangements, and ebullient performances - altogether the most realistic vision of musical personality ever put to wax, beginning with a disarmingly simple love song, "You Are the Sunshine of My Life". This is the second album in Wonder’s classic period from 1972-1976 in which he hit his artistic peak. Following his previous effort, Music of My Mind, Wonder created a perfect mix of funky dance grooves and social awareness. Talking Book also dispayed a growing mastery of creating an album through cohesive sounds and flawless sequencing. The lead single, Superstition, hit the top spot on the Hot 100, and its second single, You Are the Sunshine of My Life, repeated this feat. A signal recording of his "classic period", in this one he "hit his stride. The album was certified Gold in Canada and The US. Contents . Stevie Wonder – lead vocal, background vocal, piano, Hohner clavinet, drums, Moog bass. Original pressings contain Braille lettering of Wonder's name and the album title, along with a message not transcribed until the 2000 pressing:. It is all I have to tell you how I feel.

Talking Book" established Stevie Wonder's albums during this period not as mere vehicles for new hit songs but as whole works of art that required the music loving public to pay attention. Superstition" and "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" are the big hits from "Talking Book. But they aren't the only songs of note on the album. This album, more than even "Music Of My Mind", was a testament to that belief. Stevie himself stated that he felt this ablum had stronger overall songs than even the Masterpiece which was soon to follow, 1973's INNERVISIONS. With this album especially, Stevie would begin to change how songs were recorded and how technology, both new and old could be used to forward that change.
Talking Book is the fifteenth album by Stevie Wonder, released on October 28, 1972.
