A concerto is conventionally for one soloist plus orchestra. Bartok’s "Concerto for Orchestra" introduced the concept of various musicians performing as soloists as well as being the orchestra.

White Noise is an English experimental electronic music band formed in London in 1968, after American-born David Vorhaus, a classical bass player with a background in physics and electronic engineering, attended a lecture by Delia Derbyshire, a sound scientist at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Derbyshire and Brian Hodgson, then both former members of electronic music project Unit Delta Plus, joined Vorhaus to form the band.

In June 1969 White Noise released the groundbreaking album An Electric Storm on Island Records. I use voices a lot too, but not as conventional vocals. White Noise 3 - Re-Entry (1980). White Noise 4 - Inferno (1990).

This was way different from their first release. This is a completely instrumental album wich sometimes reuses an instrumental theme from the first album

In 1969 The White Noise released the groundbreaking album An Electric Storm on Island Records. Typically dark in atmosphere, it was recorded in his own studio in Camden, North London. The album further utilized the ESM VCS3, as well as prototype sequencers.

Notes

A concerto is conventionally for one soloist plus orchestra. Bartok’s "Concerto for Orchestra" introduced the concept of various musicians performing as soloists as well as being the orchestra. In this concerto, the synthesizer, a solo instrument, now also creates its own ensemble since I build it a sixteen track tape recorder for company.
The Kaleidophon Synthesizer includes a couple of VCS 3’s, but is basically a console of electronic modules I’ve designed since "White Noise I" to bring to life all the sounds I imagined. It even composed and created (near the end of the second movement) its own music in a few minutes of mechanical madness.
