Description

The Blues Brothers soundtrack was released on Atlantic Records. On the surface this doesn't seem unusual, since the Blues Brothers' Atlantic debut, Briefcase Full of Blues, was a number one album; but the movie was released by Universal, and its parent company, MCA, passed on the soundtrack. The rollicking remake of the Spencer Davis Group's "Gimme Some Lovin'" was a hit, featuring an arrangement notable for the horn section that replaces Steve Winwood's rumbling organ work.

Blues Brothers 2000: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the third studio album by The Blues Brothers, their twelfth release, overall. It is a soundtrack album to the 1998 film, Blues Brothers 2000, the sequel to the 1980 film, The Blues Brothers

In essence "Blues Brothers" are comfort food, guaranteed to raise a smile whenever you are feeling the blues or even the mean reds. The soundtrack has no real weak spots and, like every soundtrack or album that has survived for over 30 years, stands up to numerous repeated listenings.

Gimme Some Lovin'" was a Top 20 Billboard hit, peaking at number 18. The album was a followup to their debut, the live album, Briefcase Full of Blues. Album · 1980 · 6 Songs. The Blues Brothers journey that John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd began on Saturday Night Live grew into a multimedia phenomenon, but even with the comedy stripped away, the soundtrack to their 1980 cult-classic film still stands tall. When they’re not ceding the spotlight to R&B giants like Ray Charles ( Shake a Tail Feather ) and Aretha Franklin ( Think ), they stir blues, soul and rock ’n’ roll together with such unbridled energy, infectious enthusiasm and star-quality charisma that it’s impossible not to get caught up in the frenzy
