Muddy Waters was an American blues artist widely considered to be one of the most important figures in post–World War II Chicago blues. He popularized several early Delta blues songs, such as "Rollin' and Tumblin'", Walkin' Blues", and "Baby, Please Don't Go", and recorded songs that went on to become blues standards, including "Hoochie Coochie Man", "Mannish Boy", and "Got My Mojo Working".

Muddy Waters is the third studio album from American rapper Redman, released December 10, 1996 on Def Jam Recordings. The album peaked at twelve on the Billboard 200 chart. The album peaked at twelve on the . Billboard 200 and reached the top spot on the R&B Albums chart. By February 1997 the album was certified gold.

The resurrection of former Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson continues, as he releases a collection of his favourite songs from the Chess catalogue. To bear witness to Wilko considering the recorded legacy of Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin’ Wolf and Chuck Berry is an inspiring spectacle indeed. Wilko possesses what one might call a quite extraordinarily expressive face at the best of times, but when called upon to describe Hubert Sumlin’s Smokestack Lightning licks, Otis Rush’s train whistle sibilance or Little Walter’s wordless scowl it’s quite a sight to survey. The eyes bulge, the jaw slackens, pregnant pauses hang heavy in the air between heartfelt and awestruck ‘Wow!’s.

I had the great privilege of performing with Wilko Johnson and Norman Watt Roy down in Kent some years ago. Also the more dubious honour of escorting him through French customs with John Otway, dressed as a nurse! My copy of Stupidity plays on the turntable as I write this
