Loudness Of Your Silence. Out In The Cold Again.
The Great Conspiracy is the second studio album by the Los Angeles psychedelic rock band, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy (PBC) on Columbia Records in December 1967. Gary Usher, who produced their debut album, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy Is Spreading, was again the producer for this album.
The Peanut Butter Conspiracy was a psychedelic folk rock band from Los Angeles in the 1960s. Several members had comprised the earlier band The Ashes, but with the addition of vocalist Barbara "Sandi" Robison, changed their name and adopted a somewhat cleaner, more sophisticated sound, rather like Jefferson Airplane crossed with Mamas & the papas. The band recorded three albums and a handful of demos before splitting up in 1969.
I’d like to request that the rest of The Peanut Butter Conspiracy discography be put on this site. As of now only their 2nd album, The Great Conspiracy, is on there. I’d like to see their 1st album, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy is Spreading, and their 3rd album, For Children of All Ages, up on this site. It’s comfusing to me why only the 2nd album is on there out of the 3. Thanks. Re: The Peanut Butter Conspiracy - 2 Album Requests. Mark as New. Bookmark.
The sounds on FOR CHILDREN will surely transport a listener back to the heady summer of 1969. Throughout the album Alan Brackett howls with a mock-psuedo-soul inflection, coming across like a poor man's David Clayton Thomas. Like I said, listen to the sound clips. No, that would be Barbara Robinson (or as we once referred to her high-ness, "Sandi Peanut Butter"). Barbra was the obvious star and focal point of the group. Her vocals are up front in the mix here, but regrettably she only gets to sing lead on a few of these tracks.
