Description

Cosmic Thing" was the band's sixth studio album, released on June 27, 1989  . WMG (от лица компании "Warner Rhino Off Roster-Audio"); AMRA, EMI Music Publishing, LatinAutor - SonyATV, Kobalt Music Publishing, LatinAutor, UBEM" и другие авторские общества (4).

Cosmic Thing is the fifth studio album by American new wave band the B-52's, released in 1989. It contains the singles "Love Shack" and "Roam". The success of the album served as a comeback after the death of guitarist Ricky Wilson in 1985. Six of the album's songs were produced by Nile Rodgers in New York City, and the remaining four by Don Was in upstate New York. The band embarked on the Cosmic Tour to promote the album.

The 1989 long-player was a big success at the time, spawning the transatlantic top five hit ‘Love Shack’ and ‘Roam’ (also top five in the USA). Cosmic Thing will be reissued on 28 June 2019.

Drums – Steve FerroneKeyboards – Tommy Mandel. Vocals – Keith Strickland. Cosmic Thing (Cosa Cósmica) ‎(LP, Album). LP-7-1-F 2025411, 925854-1. Cosmic Thing ‎(LP, Album).

Once The B-52's released their underrated fourth LP Bouncing Off The Satellites in the wake of the death of guitarist Ricky Wilson, the impact of losing such a key member on the frontlines of the AIDS epidemic made it difficult to think about recording new music. For a moment, "She Brakes For Rainbows" seemed like the last song we'd ever hear from the Athens, GA new wave heroes. The music he brought us for Cosmic, we thought, was brilliant and inspiring. There was some trepidation about doing another record, but once we heard the music and got to jamming, everything fell into place really quickly. Pierson also moved to Woodstock, though she now lives in nearby Phoenicia, where she runs the Lazy Meadow resort motel with her wife Monica.

Album · 1989 · 10 Songs. Cosmic Thing The B-52's.

Wisely, the band chose the title track to kick off the album. A great party-sounding track, "Cosmic Thing" is an infectious upbeat groove where the drummer sounds like he's doing his thing using three sets of drumsticks. I think I detected a zither on this song as well. For sheer exuberance, this one surpasses even "Love Shack".
