Ah, Frankie Sinatra, ah, Frank Sinatra Frankie, me boy, don't know You have the perfect voice to sing calypso (What did they say?) The Avalanches are joined by new-school rap acrobat and oddball drug-enthusiast, Danny Brown, and old-school, prestigious rap legend MF DOOM. In their interview with Zane Lowe, they explained why Danny Brown was perfect for this record: We wanted to make this record still sound like us but to be a bit more loose and rock and roll.
Just minutes after the premiere, the reclusive band posted a message which confirmed the existence of a new album, Wildflower, and offered an apology for the long wait
It was hard not to expect something great to come out of this stellar collaboration, but instead, The Avalanches released an inconsistent production that took out much of the potential of the track. Danny Brown's amazing flow is obscured by the muddy production, not to mention DOOM's really short appearance.
Frankie Sinatra is the first track the Avalanches have released since their landmark debut, Since I Left You., The Avalanches release new song and video and reveal full album details. He’s on Beats 1 Radio, interviewing Tony Di Blasi and Robbie Chater of the Avalanches right now. On getting Danny Brown ( one of the most compelling voices in rap music, says Zane) and MF Doom together for Frankie Sinatra: We wanted to make this record still sound like us but to be a bit more loose and rock and roll. The initial plan was to make a crazy loose rock record, but with samples. Danny’s voice is almost like a punk rock voice sometimes, so we thought it’d be perfect – but we thought, ‘He’d never have heard of us’.
In an interview with Lowe, band members Tony Di Blasi and Robbie Chater revealed that the new album features 21 tracks. Other guests include Father John Misty, Toro y Moi, Royal Trux’s Jennifer Herrima, Biz Markie, Mercury Rev’s Jonathan Donahue, and more. Jens Lekman, Connan Mockasin, and Empire of the Sun also recorded tracks for the album that failed to make the final tracklist.

Brown spoke about the collaboration in an interview with Pitchfork: "They contacted my manager," he said. I knew of them, but I can't say I was that deep into their music. But I went back and studied it, and it's just amazing. I am ecstatic about that s-t.
