Winter Son - Here Is A Ghost.

As of two hours ago, Porter Robinson‘s desperately anticipated Worlds Remixed album is finally at our doorstep! The 12-track compilation features artists from all different backgrounds, lending their own personal rendition of the tracks we’ve come to cherish and replay to excess. The album is gigantic in scale, and breathes entirely new life into Porter’s creations. For any fans of his work, the work of the remixers, or of fantastic and fluid electronic music in general, Worlds Remixed is worth a focused listen. Porter was right in giving Fellow Feeling to Australian duo Slumberjack. The result is a larger than life trap walloper, with textured elements galore and seemingly endless arrays of different sweeps, whirs, and thumps. Presented against the soft piano serenades and heavy spoken words, the power of the breaks are intensified tenfold.

Winter Song" is a seasonal song co-written and co-sung as a duet by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson. Although considered by many to be a Christmas song, no explicit reference to the holiday can be found in its lyrics. It appeared on the holiday compilation album The Hotel Café Presents Winter Songs by various female artists, released in 2008 through Epic Records. It became a minor hit in Canada in 2008, reaching number 97. Upon release in Ireland in 2011, it reached number two for two weeks.

2000 studio album by Cradle of Filth. The biblical Midianites take their name from Midian, a son of Abraham, and one of his concubines. Today, the former territory of Midian is found through small portions of western Saudi Arabia, southern Jordan, southern Israel and the Sinai. The opening line of "Lord Abortion" ("Care for a little necrophilia?") is a quote from Terry Gilliam's film Brazil (voiced by Kim Greist in the film, but delivered here by Toni King, frontman Dani Filth's wife). Midian was released on 30 October 2000 by record label Music for Nations. Her Ghost in the Fog" spawned a music video, which received heavy rotation on MTV2 and other rock channels, and was directed by Alex Chandon (who also directed the 2001 horror film Cradle of Fear in which Dani Filth appeared).

A Ghost Is Born is the fifth studio album by American alternative rock band Wilco. Released on June 22, 2004, it features singer Jeff Tweedy on lead guitar more than any previous Wilco album. The band streamed the album online free, and offered a five-song EP to purchasers. Tweedy entered a rehab clinic shortly before the release of the album, delaying its release by two weeks. It also shortened its promotional tour

Here Is A Ghost & Almost A Phantom remixed by 3 of my favourite artists.

House Of Black Lanterns is a good friend of mine and I'm honoured to have his deep dubby reworking of 'Almost A Phantom' in the package. He has a pretty dark and menacing album on Fabric's in-house label Houndstooth that's insanely brilliant.

I came across Will through his 'Clichè' EP on CGI_Records and have since been delving into all his releases and the catalogue of his own label - Proper Trax. I asked him completely out of the blue if he'd like to remix 'Almost A Phantom' and we ended up talking studio and modular synths.

Orbis Terrarum exorcise the hidden spirits of 'Here Is A Ghost' with a brooding techno workout. I know these guys from their incredible reworking of Agents Of Time's 'Lost Dreams', released via Stem Records, which I loved so much I had to get them on a remix ASAP!

I made 'Acid Rain' in December 2012 and is the first track I made as Winter Son. It was a pretty damn freezing night and I sat at the 808 and Juno, and jammed around for an hour. It was originally to be used as an intro to mine and Jozef K's live show, and it got it's first play in the main room at Sankeys Manchester, 2 days after I'd finished it. Jozef said to me easier in the week, 'we need an acid drone, can you knock something up for the weekend?'. It made an appearance on Olugbenga's Boiler Room session too.

Anyway, I thought I'd extend it a little and change a few bits to make this new version.
