The Mirror Crack'd : The film starring Angela Lansbury, Tony Curtis, Rock Hudson is directed by Guy Hamilton. It is about Elizabeth Taylor plays an unsuccessful actress wants to come back but she gets problems by dint of the mysterious incident in the past. Unfortunately, there are many murders happening in the village where filming, which makes her stress. Our player supported Chromecast & Airplay.
Lansbury was probably a bit young for the role at the time and as a result is perhaps giving too studied a character performance, though again with the passing of time I find myself persuaded that technically she actually gives an excellent performance. In many ways the next and final one of the sequence, Evil Under the Sun, is probably the one that most amiably combines the traditional Christie structure with parodic characters and dialogue without straying too far from the genre path. Christie’s 1962 novel has since neen adapted for the television with both Joan Hickson and Julia McKenzie as Miss Marple (the latter version using Christie’s full title, The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side ), neither for my money is as imaginative, funny and clever as the 198o movie version.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the murderer among them all? Genres: Crime Mystery Thriller. But, by the 1960s most of her best work was behind her. As a whodunit, "The Mirror Crack'd" is one of her weaker stories, along with: "A Caribbean Mystery", "At Bertram's Hotel", "Endless Night", and a couple of others, all published in the 60s. The whodunit puzzle in "The Mirror Crack'd" is easy to solve, if one knows how to "read" Agatha Christie. The film's screenplay inherits the book's plot, naturally, and suffers accordingly.
Agatha Christie had long been fascinated by the tastes of new 'developed' houses on the estates around her home in Wallingford, Oxfordshire and she saw an opportunity to explore these in The Mirror Crack'd. The title came from the poem The Lady of Shalott, by Tennyson. The last of the true English village mysteries in Christie's output, and one of the best of her later books. In 1980 Hollywood adapted the novel into a film starring Angela Lansbury as Miss Marple alongside Elizabeth Taylor as the beautiful Marina Gregg.
