Murphys Kids is a sixpiece American ska punk band from Richmond Virginia formed in 1999 The group has toured up and down the East Coast of the United Sta.

The musicians in the band are supported by an amorphous group of people without whom Murphy’s Kids would be the proverbial tree falling in the woods with no one around to hear.

The Anthemic Pandemic was written and recorded by the band at the Murphy’s Kids compound in Richmond, VA. They worked on this record day and night and the details really shine through in the recording. In typical Murphy’s Kids fashion, the record is drenched in reggae and funk colors with a splash or two of punk rock near the middle of the record. Murphy's Kids is a six-piece American ska punk band from Richmond, Virginia, formed in 1999. The group has toured up and down the East Coast of the United States and is noted for organizing the yearly Happy Skalidays charity benefit show. The Band is also known for being politically active. Their album, The Anti-Corporate Beach Party, was recorded in Petersburg, Virginia at Imagine Music Studios and had almost sold out its first pressing of 1,000 copies as of December 2006.
