2019 studio album by Freddie Gibbs and Madlib. Entirely produced by Madlib, it is the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2014 album Piñata, and their sixth project as MadGibbs overall. The album features guest appearances from Pusha T, Killer Mike, Anderson Paak, Yasiin Bey, and Black Thought.

March 13, 2014 2:09PM ET. Piñata. By. Simon Vozick-Levinson. At its best, Piñata recalls the dark-alley vibes of Raekwon’s classic, RZA-produced 1994 debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. It’s no coincidence that one of the strongest tracks features an excellently grim guest verse from Rae himself. In This Article: Freddie Gibbs, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, Madlib.

Creating your own pinata isn't as hard as you may think. You can make pinatas a few different ways. The traditional method is to use paper mache. This method can be a little tedious at times, but the process is simple and, of course, lots of fun. Once you've mastered the technique, you can easily DIY any pinata you'd like. Another method that works best for some pinatas is to make a base with custom-cut pieces of cardboard that you tape or glue together. And if you're really short on time, you can even make a pinata by starting with a paper bag. Continue to 2 of 22 below  . Nothing says summer like a tropical drink on the patio or by the pool, and this giant tropical drink pinata would be a fun surprise at your next summer party. Just make sure you have plenty of candy on hand, as there is a lot of space inside this huge pinata. Everyone can get handfuls of loot once it has been opened!

Pinata, as a collaboration with Madlib and an MC, naturally makes Madvillainy the easiest comparison. Yet, to contend that Gibbs must exist solely in Dumile’s iron-masked shadow is to do Pinata injustice. The first glimpse you get of Pinata comes with some suitably vintage sounding samples put over a strangely familiar drumbeat. Pinata is a far more aggressive album, and this is mostly due to Freddie Gibbs. His deep voice is evocative of a less syncopated, less furious DMX, and his classic gangsta lyrics and flow mesh with the instrumentals impeccably. The album gets progressively more confident as it goes on, with the only guest appearances from Danny Brown and Raekwon until the last seven tracks, which feature many other rappers from Domo Genesis to Ab-Soul and Scarface.
