A great song that deserved to be a bigger hit from Brenda's followup release to "Get Here", which featured the light jazz "Piano In The Dark" hit. An official 12" mix exists, but is very rare in Canada and I guess was sold out (if it ever came here) by the time I was aware of the song. This is a reworking of the album version.

Redirected from Kiss Me With The Wind (Brenda Russell album)). Kiss Me with the Wind is the fifth studio album by the American singer/songwriter Brenda Russell, released on August 21, 1990. After the success of her fourth album, Get Here (1988), Russell collaborated again with a variety of different producers and songwriters.

Singer/songwriter Brenda Russell was teamed with mega-producer Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin) on Kiss Me With Wind, a nice fusion of the two talented artists' skills. The propulsive title track combines elements of dance-pop and house music. The whimsical, pulsating "Dinner With Gershwin" is one of the singer's best tracks, and Russell gives one of her most fluid performances; Donna Summer's cover of the song was a Top Ten R&B hit. Furthermore, "Stop Running Away" broke into the R&B Top 40.

Taking more of a dance-oriented slant than her previous album, Russell worked with the famed songwriter/producer Narada Michael Walden who ultimately co-wrote and produced two tracks for the album with her, including the title track and "Stop Running Away", both of which were released as singles. Also included on the album is Russell's own version of "Dinner with Gershwin", a track that Russell had written years earlier and given to Donna Summer who had a minor hit with it in 1987 (Russell had co-produced Summer's version with Richard Perry).
