Nice short album, i don´t know why this album is not included in Jeff Mills Albums list, can anyone fix that? thanks. afterall there´s some dark tunes in this album, the track 7 is a good example of it. The whole album is satisfying, although i found the track 4 a bit distressing

Actual AX-009C/D is produced and electrified for Axis9/Axis Records. Issued in slimline jewel case. The whole album is satisfying, although i found the track 4 a bit distressing

2014 Album TechnoARTIST:Axis, Jeff Mills Read. Jeff Mills – Chronicles Of Possible Worlds.

Jeff Mills (born June 18, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan) is an American DJ, record producer and composer. Thanks to his technical abilities as a DJ, Mills became known as The Wizard in the early to mid 1980s. In the late 1980s Mills founded the techno collective Underground Resistance with fellow Detroit techno producers 'Mad' Mike Banks and Robert Hood but left the group to pursue a career as a solo artist in the early 90s.

Mills also announced an extended version of his score for the 16-minute, 1902 film A Trip To The Moon (which came out on DVD and Blu-Ray last year), will drop on Axis on 27th January. And, as the label reaches its 25th anniversary this year, Mills has launched a new.

Nice short album, i don´t know why this album is not included in Jeff Mills Albums list, can anyone fix that? thanks. What i like about this album is that it can be heard as soundtrack for black & white movies, such as Buster Keaton early Movies, or Charlie chaplin, or even Harold Loyd...and many others.Sometimes i like to listen to this album and imagine a ghost story taking place in a giant victorian Mansion...afterall there´s some dark tunes in this album, the track 7 is a good example of it.The whole album is satisfying, although i found the track 4 a bit distressing. To conclude, all i can say is that this Album is worth listening.

Interesting release, more aimed at demanding home listeners than dance floor addicts. Despite of that, Jeff pulls off a solid collection of tracks, with a few gems. Namely the opener, which closes in at just under eleven minutes, and sounds like a composition made of three tracks. The first segment is a straight up techno one, the second is more on the experimental side while the last one is a sci-fi ambient track with far reaching melodies. Tracks 2,4 and 8 are purely ambient, but not laid back, with trademark futuristic Mills synths and an overall eerie feel. Not particularly dark, but they tend to evoke the infinite blackenss of space! The fifth track has subtle percussion few minutes into the track, while the sixth has some awesome synths layed over a broken beat. The melodies and the effects used sound like they were taken from finest science fiction movies around and will leave you in a state of orbiting around Milky Way in a transparent time capsule. Tracks 3 and 7 are the most obvious party tracks, if you want to name them that. Sounding a lot like his tunes Gamma Player, i9 or Nepta, the tracks are minimal, with one or two layers getting added/substracted to the track throughout. Track 7 is the one I have heard slipped into most DJ sets, as far as music from this release is concerned. Overall, an album worth hearing, especially if you are into Mills' spaced out and challenging work. He goes far beyond creating quality dance floor material, and forges music hard to categorize. My picks would be the awesome opener, and the beatless numbers 4 and 8 (with its orchestral touch). Maybe not classic (yet), but a rewarding listen.
