Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (also known as Mad Max 3) is a 1985 Australian post-apocalyptic action film directed by George Miller and George Ogilvie, distributed by Warner Bros. and written by Miller and Terry Hayes. In this sequel to Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, Max (Mel Gibson) is exiled into the desert by the ruthless ruler of Bartertown, Aunty Entity (Tina Turner), and there encounters an isolated cargo cult centred on a crashed Boeing 747 and its deceased captain.
The original music score was composed by Maurice Jarre.
Mad Max Fury Road is most like Mad Max 2 and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Like these, Max by accident gets involved in a fight of others and becomes the hero. The road wars are similar as is the desert post apocalypse setting. Barter Town in Beyond Thunderdome is a precursor to many of the societies in Fury Road. Why do the War Boys in Mad Max: Fury Road need intake blood from others?
The Mad Max films were thrown together with great skill on absolutely shoestring budgets and made a king's ransom in profits. Nowadays we just seem to get one big-budget failure after another, as the box office slump now extends into its fourteenth week. Mad Max 2 (or The Road Warrior, as it is commonly called here in the USA) is an extraordinary sight to behold I guess just keep driving.
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is a 1985 Australian post-apocalyptic action adventure film directed by George Miller. Continuing on foot, Max follows their trail to the seedy community of Bartertown. While refused entry at first, Max is brought before the founder and ruler of Bartertown, the ruthless Aunty Entity. She offers to resupply his vehicle and equipment if he completes a task for he. lt;/p.
Beyond Thunderdome was a great addition to the Mad Max series of movies. Tina Turner holds her own as the villain, and the characters are memorable and somewhat more fleshed out than you would expect from an action film. Fun Trivia: The possible outcomes on the Wheel are: - Death - Hard Labour - Acquittal - Gulag - Aunty's Choice - Spin Again - Forfeit Goods - Underworld - Amputation - Life Imprisonment. Max's eyes are different; the pupil in his left eye is permanently dilated. This is a nod to Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981). Max's car is forced off the road and he injures.
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome isn't a bad movie. It has entertaining sections, decent performances and more than a few provocative images. But it also has a major shortcoming: It's too darned sane.
