Freddie and the Dreamers is the eponymous debut album from the British Invasion band Freddie and the Dreamers from Manchester, England. It was released in the United Kingdom in 1963, peaking at number five in the UK Albums Chart and reaching number 19 in the US albums chart on May 22, 1965. Freddie & the Dreamers might be the target of more critical ridicule than any successful British Invasion band, and it's true they were no musical geniuses. Yet "I'm Telling You Now," their best song, is actually a pretty dynamite Merseybeat mover, though technically it's not Merseybeat as the band hailed from Manchester. The opening instrumental section that kicks off the track has been rightfully hailed as explosive in its burst of guitar chords.
