Situation is a 2007 studio album by Canadian hip hop musician Buck 65. It is a concept album based around the year 1957. It peaked at number 31 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. At the 2008 Juno Awards, Skratch Bastid was nominated as Producer of the Year for his work on the album.

Buck 65. Released October 30, 2007. Released October 30, 2007, Buck continued to push the envelope in terms of his pop appeal. It was his first release under Sage Francis‘ Strange Famous Records, and signalled a creative re-coupling with DJ and producer Skratch Bastid. The album featured a solitary guest spot from fellow Canadian Cadence Weapon. A video was released for Dang, which sampled Let There Be Drums by The Incredible Bongo Band. Record Label Strange Famous Records. Featuring Cadence Weapon. Producers Skratch Bastid.

But Situation, by most counts Buck 65's 11th release, is a long look backward. Fifty years, to be precise. He sees 1957 as a once-in-a-century watershed (kind of like 1968), with both the space race and the Beat movement muscling into history. The album even borrows from Allen Ginsberg's counterculture lament "Howl" with Buck 65 deadpanning, in his smoke-singed growl, the iconic words: "The best minds of my generation were destroyed by madness. It is entirely produced by Skratch Bastid. Oscar Pascual of SF Weekly said, " rhymes that theoretically combine to make Situation a concept album about 1957, Buck creates a number of dark and desperate characters to tell a wide array of seldom-uplifting stories. Meanwhile, Alex Macpherson of The Guardian noted that " are isolated moments of beauty - the spare piano loop of Ho-Boys, though nothing new, is. evocative and effective - but little sticks in the mind or stimulates the emotions

Right off the bat, Situation tricks you into thinking many things, most of which turn out to be false. It's the gloomy, pinao-led "1957" that does it - rather like "3030" (from Deltron 3030), it sounds like the start of a concept album about the year in question.
