Biography by Richard S. Ginell. Inventive, intelligent, and talented pianist/keyboardist whose distinguished career has covered modern jazz, fusion, hip-hop, and dance.

Crossings is the tenth album by jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, released in 1972. It is the second album in his Mwandishi period, which saw him experimenting in electronics. He was scheduled to "set up his Moog synthesiser for Hancock to play. However, Hancock was so impressed with Gleeson that he "asked Gleeson not only to do the overdubs on the album but join the group.

My sincere apologies to anyone who may have been inadvertently left out – Herbie Hancock. The Imagine Project won two Grammy Awards in 2010: ‘Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals’ and ‘Best Improvised Jazz Solo – A Change Is Gonna Come’. When Herbie Hancock released Possibilities (2005), a collaborative effort that paired the great pianist and composer with a group of pop and rock stocks from the world over, it was obvious the restless master was entering a new phase of his long career. In that context, River: The Joni Letters makes perfect sense.

Secrets (Herbie Hancock album). The album clearly followed from its predecessor Man-Child. As ever, Paul Jackson's basslines were critical, and the other regular member Bennie Maupin continued to provide most of the solos alongside Hancock. Man-Child had seen the addition of electric guitar to Hancock's sound, and Secrets saw the guitar's place in the arrangements rise to crucial importance throughout. The flamboyant rhythm guitar contributions of top Motown session musician Wah Wah Watson are a particularly notable feature of the album.

Herbie and the management team are here to keep you up to date on everything important in the World of Herbie Hancock. Looking back on Herbie’s twelfth album, Head Hunters, which was released on this day in 1973. Recorded at Wally Heider Studios and Different Fur Trading Co. in San Francisco, the album went on to become one of Herbie’s best known records and represented a landmark moment in jazz history. The album was later added to the Library Of Congress’s National Recording Registry which collects "culturally, historically or aesthetically important" sound recordings from the 20th century.

Sublime compilation, incredible lineups, 8.5/10 sound at great price.Only drawback to me is that records have A/D and B/C sides, which isn't a big deal as it's just a compilation.4.5/5
