In the mid/late 60’s Lindisfarne began life as 'The Downtown Faction', and was led by Rod, but they soon changed their name to Brethren. Then in 1970, they were joined by Alan Hull and another name change this time to Lindisfarne. This was to be the turning point in Rod’s career. second album Fog on the Tyne. Record sales were never as good as their live performances and these performances took their toll on the band and they spilt up only to reformed many times.
