Acid Casuals may count Super Furry Animals keyboardist Cian Ciárán among their members, but Omni shouldn't be consigned to the synth-based novelty scrapheap alongside, say, the Album Leaf or 1997 Claptronica excursion TDF. While Omni could be seen as merely SFA's "lost" techno album, its ambient, melodic near-instrumentals deserve to succeed on their own merits. Each track's songy enough to leapfrog Isolée and layered enough for bobbins, analogue-bent entirety conjuring what Analord might've been.
