Description

Features Song Lyrics for Iron Maiden's A Real Live Dead One album.

A Real Dead One is a live album by the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, recorded in 1992/93 at concerts across Europe, and released on 25 October 1993. This album features songs from the very beginning of the band's career (1975) through the Powerslave era (1984) (hence the title, referring to the songs being old), while counterpart A Real Live One only contains songs from the post-Powerslave albums.

Release Date 22 September 1998. Studio EMI. Recorded Various concerts throughout the Fear of the Dark Tour and Real Live Tour.

To coincide with Bruce Dickinson's "last tour" with Iron Maiden in 1993, a pair of live albums were assembled and released a few months apart: A Real Live One and A Real Dead One, both of performances culled from various European concerts on their 1992-1993 world tour. In 1998, when Maiden's albums were reissued on Raw Power, both releases were combined together as a double-disc set, A Real Live Dead One. The first disc is comprised of material spanning 1980-1984 (with many early obscurities thrown in), while the second disc spans 1986-1992

A Real Live One is the first official live album released by Iron Maiden after the phenomenal Live After Death in 1985. Consisting of material from 1986 to the band's most recent album at the time, Fear of the Dark, it feels like a natural successor to that legendary title, wise to offer only material that you hadn't heard there. Iron Maiden’s live CD releases in 1993 featured an incredible amount of lackluster vocal performances by Bruce Dickinson, particularly on older material. This album’s sister release A Real Dead One was mired by an complete inability of Bruce to hit much of the higher notes found on the pre-Somewhere in Time material he was on with any strength, not to mention some butchered guitar parts by Janick Gers. This was mostly due to a shift in Bruce Dickinson’s vocal style, which resulted in a rather lousy release in No Prayer for the Dying.

The discography of Iron Maiden, an English heavy metal band founded in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, includes sixteen studio albums, as well as numerous live albums, compilations, EPs, singles, video albums, music videos, and box sets.

Founded in Leyton in London's East End in 1975, Iron Maiden released their first album in 1980 as a five-piece with Paul Di'Anno on vocals. Bruce Dickinson would replace him in 1981. With several line-up changes Steve Harris would remain the only original member never to have had a hiatus.
