Executives at A&M Records weren't satisfied with Carpenter's new sound, so Carpenter decided to never release any of the songs. In 1989, Carpenter's brother, Richard, released a few of her solo songs on the album Lovelines. Those songs, as well as the remaining completed ones, were released in 1996 on this album
