Pastel Rita spans 1,500 square feet (139 square metres) and comprises a cafe, a boutique and an artisans' workshop in Montreal. Gabriel Malenfant and Véronique Orban de Xivry – the couple who own the space – wished to create a hybrid project, and named the cafe in honour of Malenfant's grandmother, Rita. To create the mixed-use venue, local firm Appareil Architecture renovated an empty office along a bustling street in the creative area of Mile End. Inside, Pastel Rita is decorated with several colours – each demarcating a different area.

Rita Ora will release her long-awaited second album, Phoenix, November 23rd. This album is a true labour of love, and it was important for me to do it my way. The RITA-T has already been to Canada, to Calgary where a collaboration with the Children’s Hospital in Alberta and the division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics has included training the experienced staff on the RITA-T. During that time 200 toddlers have been evaluated. Montreal was busy otherwise with festivals and busy streets, though the weather was a mix of rain and sun. A detour by Mc Gill University and its exposition on the green was a must, and of course Chinatown that made the RITA-T nostalgic to its trip to China in June :) The RITA-T will be in Toronto in November at the Child Development Center Conference for a workshop and to train more clinicians as well.
