Don Partridge (27 October 1941 - 21 September 2010)was an English singer and songwriter, known as the "king of the buskers"  . He performed from the early 1960s as a busker and one-man band, and achieved unexpected commercial success in the UK in the late 1960s with the songs "Rosie" and "Blue Eyes". Brief Biog Don Partridge (born 27 October 1944, in Bournemouth, Dorset, England) is an English busker, one-man band and singer-songwriter, who found fleeting fame in the mid to late 1960s. In the late sixties, following the release of his hit song "Rosie", one-man-band Don Partridge became a household name. But Don was too unconventional even for the music business so, after touring Britain with a band of fellow street musicians and organising a "Buskers Happening" at the Albert Hall, he abandoned stardom for a life on the road.
