Zen Logan gives his special take on the greatest Southern Rock Band ever.
The Allman Brothers Band (album). The Allman Brothers Band is the debut studio album by American rock band the Allman Brothers Band. It was released in the United States by Atco Records and Capricorn Records on November 4, 1969 and produced by Adrian Barber. Formed in 1969, the Allman Brothers Band came together following various musical pursuits by each individual member
Beginnings, released in 1971, was a double album, combining The Allman Brothers Band's first two albums, The Allman Brothers Band and Idlewildsouth respectively, on one disc. It may just be my personal opinion, but I think the Allman Brothers are the kings of southern rock. While they lost guitarist Duane Allman to a tragic motorcycle accident after only a few years together, they continued to make great albums (such as the classic Eat A Peach) even after his death and dominate the other great southern rock bands of that time .
The Allman Brothers Band. Originally issued in 1973, Beginnings was a two-record set that repackaged the Allman Brothers' first two releases, 1969's The Allman Brothers Band and 1970's Idlewild South. The music captures the Allmans in their early stage and features soon-to-be deceased members Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. Besteciler: Gregg Allman. The Allman Brothers Band. The Allman Brothers often get lumped in with The Grateful Dead as one of the pillars of the jam band scene, but they remained markedly distinct from the Dead's often-meandering explorations that would just as often peter out into nothingness as produce moments of transcendent magic . Eat a Peach may have been the band's greatest studio moment, but it was largely an album split down the middle, between songs recorded both before and after Duane's death.
