David Bowie is the self-titled debut studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 1 June 1967, on Deram Records. Astonishingly good album. You like David Bowie? His early work was a little too jazzy for my taste, but when Hunky Dory came out in '71, I think he really came into the mainstream, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Freddie Mercury and Alice Cooper, but I think Bowie had a far more flamboyant, androgynous sense of style.

The new compilation collects together his 'finest singles'. Another posthumous David Bowie album has been announced, with ‘Bowie Legacy’ collecting together his ‘finest singles’. The greatest hits collection follows on the 2014 compilation ‘Nothing Has Changed’, but the latest now contains tracks from his final album ‘Blackstar’ along with a previously unreleased version of the classic 1971 single ‘Life On Mars?’ mixed by its original producer Ken Scott. Covering over 50 years of his career from his first recordings to last singles ‘Lazarus’ and ‘I Can’t Give Everything Away’, ‘Bowie Legacy’ on CD, vinyl and download in standard and deluxe formats.
