Best of Bowie is a greatest hits album by English recording artist David Bowie, released on 22 October 2002. The songs range from his second self-titled album (1969) to Heathen (2002). It was released 35 years after his debut album, David Bowie. In a number of countries, there were two versions – a single-disc version, and a double-disc version

The Best of Bowie is a David Bowie compilation album released in 1980. The cover was based on the 12-inch single sleeve design of Bowie's "Fashion". It made No. 3 in the UK Albums Chart.

Despite his best efforts, the LP didn't make much of a commercial impact. When his career exploded about three years later with Ziggy Stardust, fans went back and discovered this album, and now "The Man Who Sold the World," "The Width of a Circle" and "The Supermen" are all classics. David Bowie began writing the music on Hunky Dory on his first visit to America in 1971. The whole Hunky Dory album reflected my newfound enthusiasm for this new continent that had been opened up to me," Bowie said in 1999. That was the first time a real outside situation affected me so 100 percent that it changed my way of writing and the way I look at things. Traveling by bus from Washington, .

Best Bowie album ever! This is much better than Black Star which is very depressing. Rock/soul at its best. David Bowie in rare form. This album is a true heavyweight amongst the all of the low card fighters. There is no other imagination that can carry through your meaningless existence but David Bowie. Why so low? The title track is one of his best songs. Blue-eyed soul at its best.

This time, we sort through the best and worst of the eternal Starman. Back in the 1999, my older brother worked with Virgin Records, and in lieu of actual payment of money, it seemed like he was compensated exclusively in CDs. And hey, that was cool. He scored tons of Astralwerks artists, dozens of Lenny Kravitz’s 5 album, and, best and perhaps most educationally of all, the complete, digitally remastered studio record re-releases of every David Bowie album up to that point. Post-Earthling, Bowie was still relevant and selling. The Thin White Duke was hot. Again  . It dawned on me much later that Bowie, musically, is everything to everyone. But damn it, today, we’re going to try and put a stamp on Bowie.

Listen free to David Bowie – Best of Bowie (Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold the World and more). The cliché about David Bowie says he's a musical chameleon, adapting himself according to fashion and trends. While such a criticism is too glib, there's no denying that Bowie demonstrated remarkable skill for perceiving musical trends at his peak in the '70s. After spending several years in the late '60s as a mod and as an all-around music-hall entertainer, Bowie reinvented himself as a hippie singer/songwriter

the listed songs sound great but sadly the producers tried to cram extra unlisted tracks on the end of each side and these all suffer from terrible "wow" (pitch wobble) I remember that Sound & Vision & Heroes were among the unlisted tracks, what a shame, it totally spoiled the experience of listening to what could have been a nice compilation
