After the release of the debut album Guy started writing for the second, only for the band to fold, so he decided to start a new one to use the songs, and asked Dan and Marek to be involved, hence the name (DAn, MANning and MarEK), with Sean joining later. I have long been a fan of Guy's music, and spent a very pleasant evening with him in his studio some dozen years or so ago, and have enjoyed all albums he has been involved with from PO90 through Manning and The Tangent, so I knew I was going to enjoy this right from the off, and that was indeed immediately.

The album sounds beautiful thanks to Timms’ production finesse. The songwriting and performance shine out impressively, while the musicianship confidently supports the listener on their journey. A recent gem of an album was just released on GEP (Giant Electric Pea) records by a new band called Damanek. The album titled ‘On Track’ came out in May and is the brainchild of Guy Manning, former member of The Tangent and the United Progressive Fraternity, which released a fantastic album in 2014 called ‘Fall in Love with the World’. Manning, also an accomplished solo artist, has built a great band here with music similar to the UPF album. The band premiered the new material at least year’s Summer’s End festival in Europe.

Damanek, featuring members from three different nations, is the brainchild of visionary t, singer-songwriter Guy Manning. The group released their debut album ‘On Track' in early 2017 to critical acclaim appearing in many ‘Best album of 2017’ polls and will release their follow-up album ‘In Flight’ later this year through GEP Records.
