Description

Released: January 1, 1977.

Label: Musea ‎– FGBG 4415. Format: CD, Album, Reissue. Recorded between Feb 28 and Mar 12 1977. Tracks 8 & 9 are bonus tracks recorded as a first model for the "Horizon Digital" album from 1978.

Very energic, up tempo kind of jazz rock with fusion elements with superb musicianship and very complex arrangements. The duels between Ann Balester's keyboards and Lorenzini guitar are top notch for sure.

Easily in the top 5 jazz rock records of all time. This group of musicians had a beautiful thing going, and once they got warmed up into the end of their self titled LP, they had a vision. Technically unmatched, melodically genius, and rhythms from beyond to keep your head spinning.

i really like this album but i would like to add that i'm pretty sure it's a needle drop recording as i can hear a slight amount of crackle for a few seconds on one of the songs.my ears are very sensitive to vinyl surface noise so there's a very good chance others won't notice it at all.

this is why c.d's are sometimes better than vinyl , two bonus tracks and no crackle or pops to be heard.i do have a mint copy of this on vinyl also but i won't be playing that again anytime soon.

this is one of the gems of my collection , i have played this about 10 times and i am yet to understand it on a technical level.so many things to hone in on from the constant odd time signatures to the individual performances.in short this album just keeps giving with every spin.i don't think i will ever get tired of playing this one.my advice to you ... buy the c.d or make a vinyl rip to avoid wearing out the grooves as you may find yourself spinning this almost every day !

Unknown band for most of Jazz-Rock and Prog Rock lovers. This French group released three beautiful albums in the late 70s, from which ambitious "Aliquante" is an outstanding masterpiece. The album demonstrates an unique combination between fast, clear and intelligence virtuoso passages and deep, melodious highly talented compositions created by the leading tandem Marius Lorenzini–Ann Ballester. The result: one of the best French groups ever along with Carpe Diem, Magma, Gong and some others. The music contains nearly 70% Jazz-Rock, 20% Art-Rock, 5+5% Funk and Pop with Ann's vocal parts. I have to mention powerful drummer Alain Gouillard, who should be ranked as good as Bill Bruford, Ginger Baker and Pierre Moerlen. Marius Lorenzini is the most famous fusion guitar player in France, who plays solos equally good both on acoustic and electric guitars. Mademoiselle Ann Ballester is the only female in this band also with a jazzy education, and she is still active. So, how do you think: may these super musicians do something bad? In summary, we have one of the leaders of the European and worldwide Jazz-Rock scene along with Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Brand X, Weather Report, etc. P.S. In that way, I would also recommend Marius Lorenzini's solo albums like "Orchestra II" or "Orchestra V".
