Out of the Cellar is the debut studio album by the American heavy metal band Ratt. Released in 1984, it was an immediate success, with wide airplay on radio and heavy rotation on MTV of its singles, especially the decade-defining "Round and Round". The album is certified as triple platinum by the RIAA. The album brought Ratt to the top of the glam metal scene in Los Angeles. Ratt's later work would never surpass the success of Out of the Cellar.

The staccato style playing of Warren DeMartini along with the trademark scratchy voice of Stephen Pearcy would establish Ratt as a heavy hitter. The only American issued version of this album on cd isn't the best sounding however Japan has other versions. The influence of Judas Priest and Motley Crue are highly obvious. Overall Impression - 10 Ratt's debut album Out Of The Cellar would go on to sell 5 million copies. Out of the Cellar is hailed by many rock critics as the hair-metal album of the '80s. The guitar playing solidifies this as fact with Robin Crosby's thunderous rythm guitar and Warren DeMartini's lightning attack on the fret board.
