Carl Philipp Stamitz (Czech: Karel Stamic; baptized 8 May 1745 – 9 November 1801) was a German composer of partial Czech ancestry. He was the most prominent representative of the second generation of the Mannheim School. He was the eldest son of Johann Stamitz, a violinist and composer of the early classical period. Born in Mannheim, he received lessons from his father and Christian Cannabich, his father's successor as leader of the Mannheim orchestra.

Carl Philipp Stamitz (Czech: Karel Stamic), who changed his given name from Karl, was a German composer of partial Czech ancestry. He was the eldest son of Johann Stamitz, a violinist and composer of the pre-classical area. As a youth, Stamitz was employed as a violinist in the court orchestra at Mannheim. Johann Christian Bach (September 5, 1735 – January 1, 1782) was a German composer of the Classical era, the eighteenth child of Johann Sebastian Bach, and the youngest of his eleven sons. After a spell in Italy, Bach moved to London in 1762, where he became known as "the London Bach". He is noted for influencing the concerto style of Mozart.
