Eagles Live is the first live album by the American rock band Eagles, a two-LP set released on November 7, 1980. Although the Eagles were already in the process of breaking up, the band owed Elektra/Asylum Records one more album and fulfilled that obligation with a release of performances from the Hotel California and The Long Run tours.
Album · 1980 · 15 Songs. Released only months after the group announced their breakup, Eagles Live feels like a final encore. Recorded at various gigs in Southern California between 1976 and 1980 (and gently tweaked with some studio overdubs, thanks to the band's notorious perfectionism), these 15 tracks capture the Eagles in their prime. Alongside the single "Seven Bridges Road", a gospel-tinged showcase for the band's peerless harmonies, the their take on Joe Walsh's solo hit "Life's Been Good" is infused with a sense of playful decadence.
Eagles is the debut studio album by the rock band the Eagles. The album was recorded at London's Olympic Studios with producer Glyn Johns and released in 1972. The album was an immediate success for the young band, reaching No. 22 on the charts and going platinum
Although Eagles Live includes four tracks recorded in the fall of 1976 (thus allowing for the inclusion of departed singer Randy Meisner on "Take It to the Limit"), the bulk of the album comes from the end of the Eagles' 1980 tour, just before they broke up, and it reflects their late concert repertoire, largely drawn from Hotel California and The. Long Run. The occasional early song such as "Desperado" and "Take It Easy" turn up, but many of the major hits from the middle of the band's career - "The Best of My Love," "One of These Nights.
Eagles Live is the Eagles first live album, and last album before officially splitting up in 1980. The songs were mixed by Don Henley with the rest of the band while in Miami, Florida, and Glenn Frey in Los Angeles, after leaving the band and staying in California. New Kid in Town, Wasted Time, Take It to the Limit, Doolin-Dalton (Reprise II), and Desperado, were recorded at The Fourm right outside of Los Angeles, California during the 1976 Hotel California tour. The rest of the songs except Life In The Fast Lane (recorded in Long Beach, CA) were recorded live in 1980 at the Santa.

With five number one singles, 14 Top 40 hits, and four number one albums, the Eagles were among the most successful recording artists of the 1970s. At the end of the 20th century, two of those albums - Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) and Hotel California - ranked among the ten best-selling albums ever, and the popularity of 2007's Long Road Out of Eden proved the Eagles' staying power in the new millennium. Though most of its members came from outside California, the group was closely identified with a country- and folk-tinged sound that initially found favor in Los Angeles during.
