Bird Songs is the 22nd album by Joe Lovano released via the Blue Note label in 2011. The album features Esperanza Spalding, James Weidman, Otis Brown III, and Francisco Mela performing songs mostly written or performed by the jazz musician Charlie Parker. Chris Barton of Los Angeles Times stated "Though a showcase for history, Lovano and his band expertly show the many ways these classics can still throw sparks".

20 Songs About Birds. Birds are often used as metaphor for feeling free - flying above whatever it is that might be holding you down. That's one of the reasons artists play on birds - doves, vultures, bird songs or just the word "bird" generically - as a symbol in a song. Not always is this symbolism positive. For example, Nelly Furtado's most known hit "I'm Like A Bird" describes herself as a bird flying away without a clue where her soul or home is. John Mayer sings in "Vulture" of other people picking him apart. And then you have someone like.

List Rules Songs with "bird" in the title are fair game, but this list focuses mainly on songs about birds as a subject. Although eagles are the most common bird that is referenced in music, there are plenty of other great bird songs that are worth listening to. After all, what's a better fantasy to live out in a song than spreading your wings and taking to the sky? This is a ranked list of all songs about birds, including songs about eagles, doves, swans, seagulls and more.

Also extremely common, these birds thrive in human environments, where they can be found foraging on sidewalks and fluffed up in bushes. Another introduced species, House Sparrows hang in groups and wear a hodgepodge of colors: brown backs, gray chests and caps, and a blatant black patch covering their chins and throats. Good bird fact: American Goldfinches are so closely associated with thistle that John James Audubon portrayed them on the plant in his seminal guide Birds of America. Whenever a thistle was to be seen on either bank of the New York canal, it was ornamented with one or more Goldfinches, he wrote of one walk along the Mohawk river.
