Amber is the second studio album by English electronic music duo Autechre. It was released on 7 November 1994 by Warp Records. It was the first Autechre album to be composed entirely of new material, as their debut album Incunabula (1993) was a compilation of older tracks

comentando Amber, CD, Album, WARPCD25. Another Autechre release I bought from Cob Records and it was great to hear this album especially after seeing them live at the Leadmill (with The Sabres of Paradise and LFO) just one month before. This album continues on from Incunabula but with a darker tone than what they had previously released. A classic album in a year of many great releases from Warp Records.

Opposed to Autechre's first album Incunabula which was predominantly a compilation of older material and part of Warp Records' Artificial Intelligence series of albums, Amber was described by Rob Brown as "genuinely the first album we put out on Warp". Amber was released by Warp Records on 7 November 1994

Listen free to Autechre – Amber (Foil, Montreal and more). Amber, released by Warp Records in 1994, is the second full-length album by the electronic music group Autechre. Amber has a more ambient, less percussion-based sound than Autechre's first release Incunabula. In small but noticeable ways on this, their sophomore release, Autechre begin to break from the clean, if at times obvious, artistic techno from their debut record, and reach instead toward something far more distinct.

Amber (Autechre album). Studio album by Autechre. 7 November 1994 (1994-11-07). The album was released in the United States on 24 January 1995 by Wax Trax! and TVT Records Reception.

Amber (Autechre album), Amber is the second studio album by the British electronic music duo Autechre, released by Warp Records on 7 November 1994 Amber was Autechre's . Amber was Autechre's first album of new material as their previous work Incunabula was a compilation of older tracks. Amber (Autechre album) history. Amber (Autechre album) encyclopedia. Amber (Autechre album) facts.

The dense, mathematical music Autechre pioneered on their debut album Incunabula is given a new twist on their follow-up, Amber. While percussion took center stage on their previous works, highly evolved melodies and textures dominate here. The spirit of electro still lives in the muted beats, rhythmically complex and strangely funky. But they don't merely provide a background; they meld seamlessly into dense layers of strings, wandering synth hooks, and massive shards of white noise. It's highly intellectual, but by no means is it unemotional.

My copy is identical to this issue in all ways, except disc doesn't have a SID code and Matrix ends with 'M1S1'. Variant or separate release?

I’ve been listening to Amber for the past few weeks, listening to every detail, every eccentricity that makes up this beautiful masterpiece of electronic art. At first I wasn’t too fond of the extremely detailed ambient textures I found. Tri Repeatae had given me a precursor, I had expected heavy beat experimentation coupled with some underlying melodies, and a bit less ambience. Amber is much smoother and darker than Tri Repeatae and is also much more melodic. Autechre at this point had Ambient music down to its very last element, and had too move on. Once again Autechre closes a chapter of its musical talent with a great piece of Ambient work. A must have and in my opinion and one of the top Warp Records releases to date.

This by far one of my most beloved ambient works. Truly stellar melodies are scored here. Coming to mind are Montreal, Silverside, and Nil. Nil is considered by me to be one the most moving pieces Booth and Brown have constructed. Building deceptively and intelligently, the track flows like a raging river that is placid. Silverside is an emotional work that will leave your love bucket spilled on the floor. Lastly, Montreal is a classic 1-2 beat surface liner. Do not forget the structured works here as well. Slip is a fine example of this. Slip's beats are fantastic and bounce about in a wonderfully off beat manor. Somehow these guys can make such sense out of these scenario-esque off beats they put themselves into. Not mentioned above is Teartear. It is the arrival of the executioner. Be careful and don't let it take your life. This is a fine album for fans of the old and semi-new era of Autechre.

The group's second full-length is probably them at their most ambient. You almost expect it to be after gazing at the beautiful cover work. If you're looking for sharp, angular, non-rhythmic arrangements you won't find them here. Instead it's a cool, reverberating, hypnotic trip from start to finish. Recommended if you like other contemporary releases from Biosphere, The Orb and FSOL.
