Anti EP is an EP by British electronic music duo Autechre, released by Warp on 3 September 1994. It peaked at number 90 on the UK Singles Chart, as well as number 39 on the UK Dance Singles Chart. It is the only explicitly political record Autechre have released.
Continuing in the same vain as Incunabula, though much more club music inspired, Anti EP is not only a bold statement by the duo, but also as a sort of first step into their later, wildly experimental and left field music. Sweet synth chords fluttering above the layered percussion that drives this ep. It's by no means something to skip over in their discography, as it is just as good, if not better than their debut.
The Anti EP contains 3 tracks that were created around the same time Amber was being recorded. Apparently this EP was created to basically spit in the faces of those who didn't agree with group gatherings where people listened to music with repetetive beats. Lost and Djarum (which by the way has a sound in it that closely resembles their song "Montreal" from the Amber album. This track could possibly be an inspiration for that track) contain the typical Autechre Repetetive beats, while Flutter is a more spaced out, ambient piece. Reply See 1 reply Notify me 5 Helpful.
Listen free to Autechre – Anti EP (Lost, Djarum and more). Printed on sticker placed as a seal: Warning. Lost and Djarum contain repetitive beats. We advise you not to play these tracks if the Criminal Justice Bill becomes law. Flutter has been programmed in such a way that no bars contain identical beats and can therefore be played at both forty five and thirty three revolutions under the proposed new law. However we advise DJs to have a lawyer and musicologist present at all times to confirm the non repetitive nature of the music in the event of police harrassment. A new version of Last.
Amber is the second studio album by English electronic music duo Autechre. It was released on 7 November 1994 by Warp Records. It was the first Autechre album to be composed entirely of new material, as their debut album Incunabula was a compilation of older tracks
rasputin: I'm not sure either, but it is safe to say that even if you don't like some of their albums, chances are there will still be a couple of others that you do. They're each pretty unique. Zettel: yes, some level of judgement is necessary.
