Started by Scott Causey Stanton and Tracy Cox, first as a duo, and later a six-piece, Pilot Scott Tracy emerged from the ashes of The Causey Way in 2001.

Pilot Scott Tracy released their first album, Flight 0713, in 2002 on What Else? Records. They moved to Jello Biafra imprint Alternative Tentacles for their sophomore effort, 2005's Any City and, adding two more sets of married couples (Chris Boland aka "Captain Kick Ass" and Susan Barlow aka Miss Susan, and Lady Christa and Bayou Joe), the group put out its third record, We Cut Loose, the following year.
