Among the Living is the third studio album by American thrash metal band, Anthrax. It was released on March 22, 1987 by Megaforce Worldwide/Island, and was certified gold by the RIAA on July 31, 1990. Drummer and principal songwriter Charlie Benante has referred to Among the Living as Anthrax's "signature album".

Well Anthrax does not sound totally the same in this album as they do now, there is way more of a thrash feel in Among the Living versus albums like Worship Music or We've Come for You All. Among the Living features some of thrash metal's best songs of the genre in my opinion. Well Anthrax as most of you know have a very signature sound and a lot of it is because of their vocalist Joey Belladonna. He has more of a singing style of vocals kind of like Death Angel and a little bit harsher than Dio. It is not the heaviest or an extremely mean vocal style but it gives them a very signature sound and actually works perfect for them and thrash in general.

Among the Living is the studio/Mixtape Album by artist/Rapper/DJ Anthrax, and Album has highlight a Pop, Rock sound. It was released/out on 1987 in English dialect, by some Music Recording Company, as the follow-up to last studio/Mixtape Album. The Album features coordinated efforts with makers, producers and guest artists and is noted for Anthrax experimentation with new melodic types. Among the Living was generally welcomed by critics and was designated/won distinctive awards.

This album was dedicated to the memory of Cliff Burton, the late bassist of Metallica. This was one of the first Anthrax albums to obtain Gold status by the RIAA. On Anthrax's re-union tour in 2005 the majority of their concert set consisted of material from "Among the Living", while on their 2006 tour at solo-dates they performed the album in its entirety.
