One Track Mind steps back into the psych-rock morass, a full-on immersion in Velvet Underground–meets–Spacemen 3 atmospherics that occasionally threatens to detour into the netherworld of Psychic Ills weirdness. But for the most part, the group stays locked in a groove-distorted and grimy, or hazy and ethereal-and the results are surprisingly cohesive. It's a narcotized groove, so don't expect Woven Bones or even Crystal Stilts. Though Neil Hagerty of Howling Hex, Royal Trux, and Pussy Galore contributed, both musically and in production.
