Heavy Metal Hippies is the eleventh studio album by Japanese heavy metal band Loudness. It was recorded and mixed by Chris Tsangarides and released in 1994 only in Japan. After the defection of bassist Taiji Sawada, Akira Takasaki played both the lines of bass and guitar on the album. In addition, drummer and band co-founder Munetaka Higuchi was replaced by Hirotsugu Homma. All music by Akira Takasaki. Lyrics by Masaki Yamada, Stephan Galfas and Kayla Ritt Yamada. Howling Rain" - 6:59.
Heavy Metal Hippies (1994) by Loudness. Labels: Warner Music. Genres: Heavy Metal .
Heavy Metal Hippies might be Loudness' oddest and weirdest output and is quite difficult to rate and sit through. After the successful self-titled predecessor, the band seemed to be back in the game after the failed attempt to gain international success with an exchangeable American singer. However, the bassist and drummer left unexpectedly and only guitar virtuoso Takasaki Akira and new vocalist Yamada Masaki of Ezo fame were still members of a band on the verge of falling apart for good. Most people already gave up on the album halfway through the weird opener and one certainly can't blame them. Certain things can't be excused by just saying it was a new open-minded approach.
Heavy rain falls again, and our days of glory wash away Hurricane blowing strong Through the eyes of madness wash away. In the howling rain, thunder echoes our shame In the howling rain, silence all sounds the same In the howling rain. Hell black ground, all around, all around, all over me All the sound, coming down, coming down, all over me Try to stay awake, watching spirits break Nowhere, nowhere left to fall. Palace walls are burning, children's cries light the sky You can taste the sorrow, where one was the rising sun Angel's wings are broken and the pearl turns to dust Waiting for tomorrow, will the sun rise again? Heavy rain falls again, and our days of glory wash away Hurricane blowing strong Through the eyes of madness wash away.
