The untitled fourth studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, commonly known as Led Zeppelin IV, was released on 8 November 1971 by Atlantic Records. It was produced by guitarist Jimmy Page and recorded between December 1970 and February 1971, mostly in the country house Headley Grange. The album contains one of the band's best known songs, "Stairway to Heaven".
Led Zeppelin IV ZOSO Symbol Meanings. By raul on July 9, 2009 in Led Zeppelin. The four symbols on the label and inside sleeve of Led Zeppelin IV, represent (from left to right) Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, John Bonham and Robert Plant. Jimmy Page decided that the next Led Zeppelin album would not have a title, but would instead feature four hand-drawn symbols on the inner sleeve and record label, each one chosen by the band member it represents. During Led Zeppelin’s tour of the United Kingdom in Winter 1971, which took place shortly following the release of the album, the band visually projected the four symbols on their stage equipment. Jimmy Page claimed that he designed his own symbol. Sometimes referred to as Zoso, he has explained that it was not in fact intended to be a word at all.

Strategically, what was to become their final studio album, In Through The Out Door, was a more synthesiser-led affair that was mostly bereft of the heroic guitar solos for which Page had become famous. But the masterstroke that would guarantee Zeppelin’s legendary status for all-time was to coincide the album’s summer 1979 release with two enormous live shows - their first in the UK for four years - at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire on August 4 and 11.
Led Zeppelin have announced their return after four decades with a new studio album in September and a world tour featuring drummer Ringo Starr in the fall. In Through the Out Door, Led Zeppelin’s eighth and final studio album, released August 1979. Over the years, the rumor mill has been abuzz with whispers of one-off shows and unconfirmed victory lap tours that never saw the light of day, but as the band’s three surviving members aged and former frontman Robert Plant emerged a born-again country singer, fans’ hopes of a proper Led Zeppelin comeback seemed all but lost. Led Zeppelin IV (Remastered). The acknowledged classic in their catalog, "Zoso" is also the album in which Robert Plant's mystical concerns took center stage on The Battle of Evermore; Stairway to Heaven, and the lighthearted Misty Mountain Hop. But Stairway aside, the album's real highlight is the downright scary When the Levee Breaks ; blues-rock never got better than this. Jimmy Page was a top London studio guitarist before he got rich and famous as the musical leader of Led Zeppelin
