NWOBHM was in the uk, other bands here like the english dogs did not really start to get there stuff out until after 1983 but this was where/when punk met hardcore punk and the scene started to change a lot, this lead basically to the crossover scene that would not take place until around 1985/86 when it became cool for punk. and hardcore bands to mix the metal bands and all of that. THIS BOX SET represents the era that came before that when punk and hardcore where a thing of its own and did not mix with heavy metal.
