Fourth Reich is the most solid release that Katharsis has ever offered up and they should be quite proud of what they accomplished with this. It bears all of the elements that have placed them at the top of the German underground scene since the demise of Moonblood. This record takes every flaw from their past and corrects it with stunning efficiency. But in all honesty, I believe Fourth Reich is as close to a perfect album as you can get. And yes, I have already caught flak for placing this album above Katharsis's older monuments like 666 and World Without End. While I do greatly enjoy those albums, there's just something about Fourth Reich that's oddly powerful and obscure. It's as if they took, with precision, the best elements of their last three full lengths and constructed one massively supreme album.
